Announcing RoadtripTribes’ General Availability and Official Production Release!

I hope this message finds you well. With summer here, we are all excited about the beautiful roadtrips lying ahead.

Good News: We are officially out of Beta!

We’re excited to announce that RoadtripTribes is now officially in production! A new, stable version of our app is also available in the app stores.

I want to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude for your support and patience during our beta testing phase. I understand that you might have experienced extended downtime, sluggish performance, and unexpected functionality issues during our beta phase. While this can be very frustrating, it has helped us to keep improving our platform.

Please rest assured that we are as committed as ever to fixing any new bugs as soon as possible.

How to use our Roadtrip Planner

You will notice that our RoadtripTribes planner does not currently offer ready-made routes, this and support for mobile devices form the basis of our future ambitions.

We do however offer a wealth of functionality to design your roadtrip to your exact needs under the “Custom Roadtrip” tab. If you are unfamiliar with the area you are planning a roadtrip to or just need some inspiration, there are web resources that can be very helpful. These sites allow you to scan through routes that other people have made in the past, allowing you to download GPX files and import them into your route in our planner via the “Import GPX” tab. These are my favorite sites to find inspiration:

  1. RouteYou: A comprehensive resource for finding routes. You can explore different routes and get inspired by the diverse journeys available. You can then download a GPX file and load it directly in the RoadtripTribes planner.

  2. MotoWhere: This site provides a large selection of routes for motorized vehicles, covering different regions and types of journeys. It includes detailed maps and route descriptions to help you get inspired for your next roadtrip.

What’s in the Pipeline?

Unfortunately, we are still waiting on approval from Apple to enable RoadtripTribes for use with CarPlay. This is where we need your help. Our user community can really help us here by leaving positive reviews for the app in the App Store. Your good reviews can significantly impact our approval process and expedite the availability of CarPlay support, making your roadtrip experience even better.

We have also started work on an enhanced planner that will allow for multi-day roadtrips to be managed as a unit. Additionally, we are adding more map types such as satellite and 3D enhanced views to help you better plan and visualise your routes.
